White Pizza Recipe Guide
White Pizza
Equipment
- Equipment needed: Pizza stone or baking sheet, oven, rolling pin (optional)
Ingredients
- Ingredients:
- 1 pizza dough ball store-bought or homemade
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2-3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp fresh rosemary or thyme optional
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish optional
Instructions
- Method:
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and place your pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.
- Prepare the dough: Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness (thin crust works best for this pizza). Transfer it to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- Garlic oil: In a small bowl, mix the olive oil and minced garlic. Brush this mixture over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Assemble the pizza: Evenly spread the ricotta cheese over the dough, then top with shredded mozzarella. Season with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of fresh rosemary or thyme.
- Bake the pizza: Transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or baking sheet in the oven. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden.
- Finishing touches: Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Add a few fresh basil leaves for garnish if you like.
- Tips & Variations:
- For a creamier texture: You can replace some of the ricotta with béchamel sauce for a richer flavor.
- Add toppings: Try adding sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or even pancetta for extra flavor.
- Gluten-free options: Use a gluten-free pizza dough or cauliflower crust if you prefer a gluten-free version.
- Dairy-free option: Substitute the cheeses with plant-based alternatives like vegan mozzarella and ricotta.
