Pizza al Salame
Pizza al Salame
Equipment
- Equipment Needed: Oven, pizza stone or baking sheet, rolling pin, pizza cutter
Ingredients
- Ingredients:
- 1 pizza dough store-bought or homemade
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sliced salami you can use pepperoni, soppressata, or mild salami based on your preference
- Optional toppings: banana peppers onions, fresh basil
Instructions
- Method:
- Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you're using a pizza stone, let it heat up along with the oven for a crispy crust.
- Prepare the Dough: Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. You can make it thin for a crispy crust or thicker if you prefer a softer base.
- Spread the Sauce: Evenly spread the tomato sauce over the dough. Don’t overdo it—too much sauce can make the crust soggy.
- Add Cheese and Toppings: Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then layer your sliced salami on top. Feel free to add any other toppings like onions or fresh basil for extra flavor.
- Bake the Pizza: Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or pizza stone) and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Serve: Once done, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
- Variations:
- Spicy Salami Pizza: Add a sprinkle of chili flakes for a bit of heat.
- Veggie Salami Pizza: Include some bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives for extra flavor and texture.
- Cheese Variations: Swap mozzarella for provolone, parmesan, or a mix of cheeses for different flavors.
- Tips and Substitutions:
- If you prefer a lighter option, opt for a low-fat cheese or even a dairy-free version if needed.
- You can make the pizza gluten-free by using a gluten-free pizza crust.
- Feel free to experiment with different types of salami, such as the milder cotto salami or the spicier soppressata
- Simple & Delicious.
