Lemon Grouper

Course Side Dish
Cuisine Italian

Equipment

  • Equipment Needed
  • Grill or stovetop grill pan
  • Aluminum foil
  • Tongs or a spatula

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • 2 fresh grouper fillets about 6 oz each
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Italian herb seasoning
  • Fresh lemon juice from 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions

  • Method:
  • Prepare the Grouper: Lay the grouper fillets on a large piece of aluminum foil. Drizzle olive oil over each fillet, and season with Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top for that bright citrus kick.
  • Wrap and Grill: Fold the foil into a packet, sealing the fillets inside. Preheat your grill to medium heat and place the packet on the grill. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is firm and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from the grill and let it sit for a minute before opening the packet.
  • Serve: Serve the fish with additional lemon wedges for extra zest.
  • Variations and Tips:
  • Wine Pairing: A crisp white wine like Pinot Grigio pairs perfectly with the citrusy, herb-infused flavors of the grouper.
  • Herb Variations: Try adding fresh parsley, thyme, or rosemary for a different herbal twist.
  • For a richer flavor: You can add a dollop of butter over the fish before grilling.
  • Cooking method: If you don’t have a grill, you can also bake the grouper in the oven at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, or pan-sear it in a skillet.
  • Dietary Substitutions:
  • Gluten-Free: This recipe is naturally gluten-free!
  • Dairy-Free: Omit butter if using for a dairy-free version.
