  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Step-by-Step Instructions
  • Prepare the Dough
  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add olive oil, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until it forms a sticky dough.
  • Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm spot.
  • Preheat the Oven
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place your pizza stone or baking tray in the oven to heat.
  • Prepare the Toppings
  • Slice the mushrooms and lightly sauté them in olive oil for 3 minutes to enhance flavor.
  • If using frozen shrimp, thaw and pat dry. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Shape the Dough
  • Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and divide it into two portions.
  • Roll each portion into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface.
  • Assemble the Pizza
  • Spread pomodoro sauce evenly on each pizza base using a wooden spoon.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce.
  • Top with sautéed mushrooms and shrimp.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the toppings and sprinkle with oregano or fresh basil.
  • Bake the Pizza
  • Carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated stone or tray.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  • Serve and Enjoy
  • Let the pizza cool for 2–3 minutes before slicing and serving.
  • Variations and Tips
  • Vegetarian Version: Replace shrimp with artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, or zucchini slices.
  • Gluten-Free Option: Use a gluten-free pizza dough mix.
  • Cheese Substitution: Opt for vegan mozzarella for a dairy-free alternative.
  • Extra Flavor: Add a pinch of chili flakes for a slight kick.
