  • Ingredients
  • For the Dough:
  • 2 ½ cups 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 packet 7 g dry yeast
  • ¾ cup 180 ml warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • For the Toppings:
  • 1 cup 150 g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup 50 g French cheese (e.g., Brie or Roquefort), crumbled
  • 1 cup 200 g cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup 150 g fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup 25 g grated Grana Padano or Parmesan
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for drizzling
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Fresh basil leaves optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Step-by-Step Instructions
  • Step 1: Make the Dough
  • In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and dry yeast. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes until foamy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a rough dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Toppings
  • While the dough rises, slice cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. Crumble the French cheese and grate the Grana Padano.
  • Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone in the oven if using.
  • Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
  • Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a 12-inch circle or rectangle on a floured surface.
  • Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  • Brush the surface of the dough with olive oil. Sprinkle oregano evenly.
  • Layer the toppings: start with mozzarella, then French cheese, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms. Top with grated Grana Padano.
  • Step 4: Bake
  • Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  • Remove from the oven and let the pizza cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Step 5: Garnish and Serve
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
  • Slice and serve your heavenly Pizza Paradiso hot and fresh!
  • Tips and Variations
  • Gluten-Free Option: Use gluten-free pizza flour for the dough.
  • Vegan Option: Replace mozzarella and French cheese with plant-based alternatives and skip the Grana Padano.
  • Add Protein: Include cooked chicken, prosciutto, or sausage for a heartier version.
  • Custom Toppings: Experiment with roasted red peppers, olives, or caramelized onions.
