Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Make the Dough
In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and dry yeast. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes until foamy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a rough dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Step 2: Prepare the Toppings
While the dough rises, slice cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. Crumble the French cheese and grate the Grana Padano.
Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone in the oven if using.
Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a 12-inch circle or rectangle on a floured surface.
Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
Brush the surface of the dough with olive oil. Sprinkle oregano evenly.
Layer the toppings: start with mozzarella, then French cheese, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms. Top with grated Grana Padano.
Step 4: Bake
Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
Remove from the oven and let the pizza cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
Slice and serve your heavenly Pizza Paradiso hot and fresh!
