Method
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
Boil Water: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
Cook Pasta: Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
Heat Olive Oil: In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
Sauté Garlic: Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant (be careful not to burn it).
Add Shrimp: Increase the heat to medium-high, add the shrimp, and cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque.
Add Lemon: Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice, cooking for another minute to meld the flavors.
Add Cream: Reduce the heat to medium and add the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Season: Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
Step 3: Combine
Mix Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta evenly in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some of the reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
Step 4: Serve
Garnish: Serve the pasta immediately, garnished with fresh parsley, grated Parmesan (if desired), and lemon wedges on the side.

Vegetarian Option: Substitute shrimp with sautéed mushrooms or zucchini.
Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free pasta.
