Step 1: Make the Dough
Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center.
Combine Ingredients: Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the well. Mix with a spoon or your hands until a dough forms.
Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Let the Dough Rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce 6. Sauté the Garlic: In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Step 4: Assemble the Pizza 9. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to the highest setting (around 475°F or 245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
Shape the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out to your desired thickness (about 10-12 inches in diameter).
Add Sauce and Toppings: Spread the prepared tomato sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then add the sautéed porcini mushrooms.
Step 5: Bake the Pizza 12. Transfer to the Oven: Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
Garnish: Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Let it cool for a minute, then garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
