  • 2 ½ cups 300g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp dry yeast
  • ¾ cup 180ml warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 cup 200g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can 90g Simmenthal beef, sliced or shredded
  • 4 –6 slices sottiletta cheese
  • 1 cup 100g fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup 120g tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

  • Step 1: Prepare the Dough
  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 20–30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • Step 2: Preheat and Prepare
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone inside if using, or prepare a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a 12-inch (30cm) circle.
  • Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
  • Transfer the dough onto your prepared baking tray or pizza stone.
  • Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  • Evenly distribute the Simmenthal beef and fresh mushrooms across the pizza.
  • Lay the slices of sottiletta cheese on top of the toppings for a creamy finish.
  • Sprinkle dried oregano for added flavor.
  • Step 4: Bake the Pizza
  • Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and let it stand for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  • Step 5: Garnish and Serve
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
  • Slice and serve immediately with a side salad or your favorite beverage.

  • Vegetarian Option: Replace Simmenthal with marinated artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, or more mushrooms.
